Wales-friends in Plettenberger SC Der Waliser Drachen auf Weiß/Grün ziert das Landeswappen und die Landesfahne von Wales.

Since 1981, in co-operation with the Culture Department of Märkischer Kreis, we have had a Friendship/Twinning arrangement with Wrexham in Wales (GB).

Reginald (Reg) and Molly Youd are the leaders of Grosvenor Friendly Club. They have become, over the years, almost family members.

It started as a pure exchange of footballers but has developed to an exchange on a social/friendship level.

The contact aims to show club members of both countries a different way of life and a different culture and homeland.

Since March 2000 the Friends of Wales in SCP and the Friends of Wales Neuenrade e.V. have joined up.

Both groups have the potential to make positive contributions to the partnership: On the one hand SCP with its connection to the Grosvenor Friendly Club and on the other hand WFN with its large number of members.

In May and October 2000 combined groups visited Wrexham, as well as for the 30 th Anniversary of the Twinning. In May/June 2001 a large group from Wrexham visited Lennetal.

They were accommodated with families in Plettenberg, Neuenrade, Werdohl and Altena.

Our friends from Grosvenor Friendly Club are searching for a like-minded group the Wrexham German Club to enlarge their membership base so they can give young people the chance to take part in the exchange programme.
